Melissa L. Gilliam, a distinguished educator, scholar, and physician, has been appointed as the 11th president of Boston University, making history as the first Black woman to hold this position since the institution was founded in 1839.

What an exciting time for Boston University! 2023 is seeing more black women in educational leadership than ever before. Black women are on the leading edge of college enrollment and college success rates. Now is the time this president needs the most support! What can each of us do to let her know she has our support and we have her back?
